Film Market Access at the 68th Edition of Festival de Cannes and Marché du Film

Toronto – May 11th, 2015 Film Market Access (“FMA”) will be attending Festival de Cannes for the 9th consecutive year. Annually, we have the privilege of preparing for and attending several markets around the world with promising producers, including Cannes – one of the most prestigious and professional environments one could hope to be a part of.

In this year’s group we have eight producers from three different continents joining us at Marché du Film and the Producers Workshop. Through our continued partnership with the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) we are proud to announce our South African participants Stephen Lorenzo – Engage Entertainment, Riaan Hendricks – A Season Of Film, Benjamin Overmeyer – Gambit Films, Bongi Nbada – Creative Black Pearls, Makgano Mamabolo – Puo Pha Productions. From Canada Akash Sherman – Lonely Tom Productions and from India Roopa Barua – Kahini Media; cumulatively, these are the most experienced group of producers to date. Rounding out the group is Danica Oliva our film studies graduate from Western University, who will be working for Doe Eye Media to document the Canadian film industry activities during the festivities based on the Made in Canada documentary project via social media platforms.

Film Market Access is once again delighted to work with the coveted Producers Workshop. The Producers Workshop is an industry-leading program that equips producers with knowledge directly from the top international producers and industry insiders. FMA participants will learn about new trends, various sources to access funds and how to widen their network with the intent of developing their projects.
In addition to the Producers Workshop, our participants will have the opportunity to attend several exclusive networking receptions throughout the festival. Not only will there be cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, there will be industry professionals in their presence with several of them seeking new talent for future projects.

Since 2007, FMA has coached and facilitated a meaningful professional and business development experience for a diverse group of international producers, directors and other media professionals to attend Festival de Cannes and the world’s largest film market – Marché du Film.

Festival de Cannes and Le Marché du Film work in harmony to set the stage for the largest film event in Europe (May 13 to 24). The festival provides a great industry environment, red carpet screenings with A-listers. Le Marché du Film gathers buyers, distributors and producers for ten days dedicated to meetings and negotiations allowing for partnerships and co-productions to be established for the future.
